Well, we will explain the title a little later.
Barbara suggested going to Lighthouse Park,
a park right near the mouth of Howe Sound.
It sounded like a nice place to visit and it was. But the travel books did not mention the very
steep, curvy roads one needed to drive to get there. I mean REALLY steep. They also did not mention the one lane road
into the place and the limited parking.
We were probably fortunate that it was rainy and overcast, as not only
did we find parking with the trailer, we were able to leave without asking
anyone to move their car. We donned our raingear and enjoyed a hike in the
park.
Another challenging drive heading out of the park, negotiated
Vancouver traffic, and then we realized we were
approaching the same toll bridge we traversed a few days earlier (See Oh Canada). To avoid the complication
of paying the toll, Bill took the exit before the toll, found a spot to pull
over, and found a way over the river without a toll.
Then after all that, we arrive at the campsite and find that
it is an awkward angle to back into and there are lots of vehicles to
negotiate. John and Jackie at the next
campsite looked skeptically at the situation, but Bill did a great job backing
the trailer into the site. After
watching Barbara give directions and Bill drive forward and back to manipulate
the trailer, John asked, “Still married?”
We smiled, “Of course.”
