Our second day at Cape Breton
Highlands National
Park started with drizzle, so we thought it would
be a good day to hike an inland trail in the hopes of spotting wildlife.
No moose today and the
cameras didn’t come out much because of the rain, but we did see patches of
snow and birds.
As the rain settled in we
spent the rest of the day resting and getting caught up on things.
Awakening to fog and limited
coastal views the next day, Bill decided to take the 4-mile Corney Brook
Trail away from the coast
along a canyon to a waterfall.
We broke camp and drove the
western side one more time. When we reached the high elevations we could see
how the fog clung to the coast.
We had time for one last
hike on this side of Cape Breton Island along
MacIntosh Brook to another small waterfall.
Then we drove over the
mountains to the other side of Cape
Breton.
